Offshore fishing charters target tunas, mahi-mahi, marlins, and wahoo in the open ocean waters south of Rhode Island. Fishing techniques include trolling dead baits and artificial lures, light tackle jigging, and drifting live and dead baits while chunking.

The decision of which offshore charter to embark upon is often made at the last minute, and is guided by many factors, including weather, water temperature charts, and recent days’ bites.

Full day (12-hour) offshore charters enable us to efficiently fish waters 20-40 miles south of Block Island. Departure times are usually no later than 4:00 am. Extended days (14-hour) allow for exploring depths further offshore (30-60 miles), and necessitate leaving the dock a bit earlier.

Extended day canyon trips are another matter. The goal is to be on the fishing grounds at early light, so we depart as early as 2:00 am. This trip is for avid anglers who are used to being on a boat, at sea, for extended periods of time.
